Main Duties:
Reporting to the Associated Manager, the job holder will be responsible for daily operation of food preparation, catering and food education programme services.
Major Responsibilities:
• Follow guidance of supervisors to undertake daily operation at Eat Well Café and the Food Hub of Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden according to sustainable principles.
• Working with a team of chefs to handle daily operational works which cover food preparation, front line sales, housekeeping, handling of customer enquiry and catering services.
• Ensure daily operation and overall hygiene standards in compliance with the requirements of restaurant license;
• Support ongoing development of food menu and education programme for low carbon mission.
Job Requirements:
• Commitment to the mission, vision and values of KFBGC.
• Have a deep appreciation of sustainable living and embrace an integrated approach to sustainability.
• Mature, well organized, initiative-taking and dynamic. Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Solid, relevant experience is preferred. Experience in vegetarian and/or group meal preparation is an advantage. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Chef.
• Good written and spoken communication skills in both English and Chinese.
• Computer literacy is essential.
• Open minded and recognize the validity of all spiritual paths.
• 5-day work per week. Working on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays is essential. Shift work is required occasionally.
• Valid Type I or II driving license is an advantage.
