Job Title: Full-time Substitute Teacher Divisional Team: Instructional Support Department/School: Middle School Reports to: Middle School Principal Hire type: Staff JOB PURPOSE The role of a Full-time Substitute teacher is to cover for the absent regular teacher. The Full-time Substitute Teacher will provide instructional coverage for teachers who are absent each day. Duties shall include any of those responsibilities normally assigned to a teacher. Overall, the job description of a full-time substitute teacher in ISKL is to provide high-quality teaching in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, maintain a positive and productive learning environment, and adhere to school policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES inclusive but not limited to:

• The Full-time Substitute Teacher will be involved in shadowing a teacher in his/her area of study, engaging in professional development opportunities in the education field, or assisting with any other duties as assigned.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student.
• Supervise students in and out of the classroom.
• Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan.
• Fully support the team teachers in preparing all related materials for teacher’s teaching use as required.
• Specific duties may vary from time to time and will be assigned according to the specific strengths of the successful candidate.

Selection Criteria:

• Minimum three years teaching experience.
• Bachelor’s in Education and/or Teaching Certification preferred.

• Able to foster a climate of trust and teamwork by being fair, caring, respectful, and enthusiastic.
