Maintenance Manager

Quantum Foods has a career opportunity at one of its Layer Farms in Gauteng for a Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team. The position reports directly to the Manager Farming Operations II and will also be responsible for maintenance procedures on a Layer farm. The position will be based in Randfontein, Gauteng (Nulaid, Boshoek Laying).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement reactive and preventative maintenance and optimize plant, vehicle, and equipment.
  • Manage internal maintenance projects and control maintenance cost, equipment, and spares inventory.
  • Ensure the workshop, personnel, and contractors are managed efficiently.
  • Coordinate and oversee all work done by contractors.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety.
  • Dismantle, move, assemble, install & align equipment and machinery.
  • Attend to civil and domestic house repairs.
  • Construct foundations for machines.
  • Follow and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Set programmable logical circuits (PLC’s).
  • Test, calibrate and document instruments such as flowmeters and scales.
  • Faultfinding and correction of process control equipment.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and assistants.
  • Fulfil internal and external audits on site.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Relevant Technical Trade.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience.
  • Experience in Poultry Farming Operations would be advantageous.
  • Prepared to work standby, callouts, and overtime.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Computer Literate.
  • Reside within 30km radius from work.
  • Have own reliable transport.
