A kitchen assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a kitchen. Here are some of their key responsibilities: Food Preparation : Assisting chefs with preparing ingredients, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping vegetables, fruits, and meats. Cleaning and Sanitizing : Keeping all food preparation areas clean and sanitized according to hygiene standards. This includes washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Inventory Management : Helping with inventory control, organizing and storing food supplies, and ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked. Waste Management : Removing garbage, cleaning garbage cans, and ensuring proper disposal of food waste. Supporting Kitchen Operations : Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies, transferring ingredients from storage to the kitchen, and helping with basic cooking tasks like stirring soups and heating sauces. Kitchen assistants need to have good organizational and time management skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of food health and safety regulations. Working Conditions

• Work is normally performed within the confines of the Nursing Home.
