We provide mapping services for engineering, infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and environmental sectors in more than 45 African countries. In this dynamic role, you will experience a fast-paced yet well-organized work environment under the guidance of our exceptional BIM Management team. Alongside your designated BIM Manager, you will support a wide range of project teams focused on mission-critical, industrial & civic projects. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our company's BIM standards, leveraging our cutting-edge design technology platforms and tools. We take pride in staying ahead of AEG industry trends concerning technology, selectively phasing out underperforming applications. Our technology stack incorporates both proprietary and third-party platforms along with several advanced Autodesk Revit plug-ins. Our team maximizes the use of current Autodesk Cloud services and engages our production teams with Autodesk ACC/BIM360 technology. These projects range from new construction and mixed-use/renovation building projects to reality capture point cloud data management for Scan-to-BIM conversions and extend to construction administration support for clash detection and VDC management. You will collaborate closely with our industry-leading architecture and engineering teams. This position supports full-time in-person and hybrid working arrangements. Responsibilities
- Advocate for BIM best practices, ensuring adherence to Project BIM Execution Plans and standards.
- Review BIM files for consistency and accuracy, proposing model adjustments when necessary and coordinating with relevant team members for implementation.
- Utilize advanced collaborative tools such as the Autodesk Cloud Services, Revit, Rhino, and other advanced technologies to foster multi-disciplinary coordination in a BIM-centric environment.
- Provide coaching and guidance to personnel on BIM implementation and applications.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to align BIM modeling strategies, model exchanges, quality control, and delivery protocols.
- Work closely with project managers and other technicians to complete project tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Architectural Degree/Honours/Masters or Professional Architectural Technologist National Diploma or Btech.
- At least 2 years of BIM experience.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit required.
- Understanding of Revit Family creation needed.
- Advanced Revit troubleshooting capabilities needed.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC Project Setup, ACC Template Management, Build).
- Additional proficiency with Revit Add-ins (Ideate, Avail, Guardian, PyRevit, Enscape) is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Rhino, Sketchup, AutoCAD, 3ds MAX, and other software will be needed.
- Coding skills are advantageous and would be used in more advanced projects in-house but not required.
