Position
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Engineering Geologist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for recent graduates passionate about engineering geology and geotechnics, ready to work on diverse projects and develop their skills in a supportive, hands-on environment. You will assist with geotechnical assessments, reporting, and project design while gaining exposure to industry best practices and standards. Key Accountabilities As a Graduate Engineering Geologist, you will:- Work within project teams to deliver high-quality services to clients.
- Participate in site inspections to verify that designs are properly executed in the field.
- Supervision of site investigation works
- Geotechnical logging of ground conditions
- Completion and Reporting of in-situ geotechnical testing
- Completion and Reporting of inclinometer movement monitoring
- Assist in creating geotechnical designs that align with industry standards, ensuring recommendations are sound and practical.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations, ensuring they meet client briefs and expectations.
- Monitor compliance with safety, legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the tendering process, learning how to prepare bids and project proposals.
- Analyse and interpret geological and geotechnical data with an attention to detail.
- Collaborate on problem-solving for project challenges, prioritising time management and accuracy.
- Adhere to Ayesa’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure quality and compliance.
Requirements
Key Requirements · Educational Background: Minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree or Master's in Applied or Engineering Geology. · Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of engineering geology and geotechnical concepts, with knowledge of geotechnical software preferred. · Field Skills: Familiarity with field techniques like rock mapping, stereonets, slope stability, kinematic analysis, and basic risk assessment. · Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and agencies. · Professional Standards: Knowledge of Codes of Practice, Design Standards, and Health and Safety Regulations. · Professional Growth: Committed to continuous learning and professional development. · Additional: Full clean driving license preferred.Other information
