Senior Frontend Engineer - Entertainment and Inspiration (hybrid)

THE ROLE & THE TEAM

Our Entertainment and Inspiration team will set out to solve major customer challenges around inspiration & entertainment in fashion & lifestyle e-commerce as well as helping our customers navigate the challenge of overwhelming choice in our ecosystem! Teams at our Dublin Tech Hub work on many of the cornerstones of our Fashion Store, including personalization components. Through full stack engineering and research, we turn visionary ideas into new emerging businesses with real potential. By tackling the most challenging problems for the fashion industry, we drive the personal digital experience and underlying knowledge models to create the most inspirational fashion experience for our customers.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

1. You will be part of an agile cross functional team that builds solutions for Zalando’s Web, Android & iOS applications.
2. Together with the team you will build solutions to configure and identify locally relevant assortment for our customers.
3. Communicate with various stakeholders to understand the business context, and translate the requirements into technical designs.
4. Act like an owner by taking up a challenge, work towards reducing ambiguity, and break the work down into manageable tasks for the team.
5. Establish trust and technical excellence beyond the team and collaborate with other internal product and technology teams to build scalable systems which integrate into the larger context of Zalando.
6. Continuously improve the performance of our systems, and your skill set as a software engineer and share knowledge with your colleagues.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

1. You are proficient in developing large-scale applications in Typescript, Javascript and Node.js.
2. You have experience with React & GraphQL.
3. You are not only experienced with integrating APIs but have a deep understanding of REST architectural styles.
4. You consistently demonstrate an entrepreneurial, analytical, and customer-centric approach, and you have an insatiable desire to improve the experience for our customers.
5. You have experience in all parts of the software development life cycle: building, testing, deploying, and operating in production.
6. You have hands-on experience in improving front-end performance and observability and worked with front-end monitoring/logging tools like Sentry.
7. You have an affinity for the reliability, monitoring, scalability, and performance of the app.

WHAT WE’D ALSO LIKE TO SEE

1. Strong knowledge about microservices and CI/CD.
2. Good understanding of AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
3. Experience creating reusable libraries/components.
4. An interest in UI design and accessibility.
