Job Purpose Statement: Assist in the service of the client during mealtimes. Assist in the setting up of the steam tables and the fill of steam tables. Keep the condiment stands full and replenish as needed. Check and refill the disposable and tray stands regularly. Maintain a high standard of guest services and satisfaction, food quality and sanitation. Dining room staff members are responsible for serving breakfast, lunch, dinner/midnight meals and the clean-up. Occasionally, staff assists with socials or other gatherings.- Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service at all times.
- Carry dirty pans and equipment to the dish washing area.
- Clean all steam tables and hot cupboards according to health specifications.
- Replace damaged or dirty tablecloths and set tables.
- Wipe tabletops and chairs.
- Replenish supply of clean trays, flight ware, cutlery and dishes in the dining room.
- Fill in where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition at all times.
- Clean the dining room, including tables, chairs, floor, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
- Check beverage stations for cups, cleanliness, hygiene, and sufficient stock.
- Execute all other tasks as requested by the manager or the client.
- Supply service bars with food such as fruit, salads, breads, and desserts.
- Clean and polish glass shelves and doors of service bars and equipment such as coffee and cream/milk dispensers.
- Make coffee and fill juice dispensers.
- Know and use correct serving techniques for all types of food and beverages offered on the menu.
- Practice good customer relations by having a thorough knowledge of the establishment, facilities, and personnel.
- 3 years of experience in a 4*- 5* Catering/restaurant.
- Manual dexterity and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain the pace of production.
- An orientation to detail and the ability to quickly understand facts.
- Proficient in English—reading, writing, and speaking.
- Basic computer skills.
