Job Purpose Reporting to the MES Manager, the MES operations support specialist will work closely in a team to efficiently deliver, implement, and support the MES solution and contribute to the establishment of a greenfield digital factory. The MES operations support specialist will be directly responsible for the support and development of the MES solution. Beyond that, the successful candidate will require a working knowledge in IT system implementations including requirement gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, documentation, and validation as well as demonstrated experience on MES systems. This is a highly technical hands-on position that requires the candidate to work in a team and as an individual to be successful in the role. Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies Education: Diploma in Computer Science, manufacturing automation or other technical discipline or equivalent experience. Skills & Competencies: Have experience implementing and supporting an MES solution. Familiar with full software development lifecycle projects. Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies in the manufacturing domain. Hands-on experience in developing and analyzing project documentation. Knowledge of principles of interaction between MES level and ERP level systems will be an advantage. Understanding of main programming languages: Angular JS, C#, and Entity framework will be an advantage. Analytical skills and problem-solving. Knowledge and understanding of the main digital trends in process automation, understanding of digital transformation technologies is a plus. Understanding the OT technologies is a plus. Minimum Experience: 3-5 years in a Similar Role, including 3 years of implementation of production automation systems in the industrial field. Key Accountabilities Support the solution design and implementation of MES, from requirement gathering to commissioning. Uphold existing standards but suggest improvements when needed. Apply technical best practices to ensure high-quality solutions, provide code reviews and debugging when necessary. Responsible for MES system installation, health checks, testing, and new deployments. Design and validate backup and disaster recovery plans in conjunction with other IT-OT departments. Provide level 2-3 MES system support to MES teams and business in the event of an incident to resolve in a timely manner. Partner closely with IT Infrastructure & other application teams to ensure smooth system implementation and service delivery in case of an incident. Train and nurture the operation team and other system stakeholders to ensure all key users are suitably trained to use the software and related tools. Align and coordinate with other specialists on the Manufacturing IT landscape required for a smart factory. Company Industry
