Managing Director (Financial Communications)

Our client is a leading global communications agency specializing in financial communications, investor relations, and corporate reputation management. Their Saudi Arabia office is looking for an experienced and highly dynamic Managing Director, preferably a Saudi National given the client's commitment to Saudization to lead their growing team and manage their most prestigious clients. The ideal profile would have extensive expertise in financial communications and investor relations, especially in the context of high-level stakeholder management, IPOs, and crisis communications. As a key member of the leadership team, you will lead strategic initiatives, engage with top-tier clients, and play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding their reputation in the market. The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator and strategist who can navigate complex corporate environments, provide counsel to C-suite executives, and actively engage with media and investors to maintain and elevate the client's reputation. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage the financial communications and investor relations team, providing strategic direction and oversight.
  2. Develop and implement strategic communication plans for clients, particularly in the areas of IPOs, crisis communications, and long-term investor relations.
  3. Advise senior executives and C-suite leaders on media strategies, preparing them for interviews and shareholder-facing events, including script creation and presentation training.
  4. Represent clients at roadshows and engage with institutional and retail investors to drive shareholder excitement and investment in the organization.
  5. Actively manage and grow relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, institutional investors, analysts, and media outlets, ensuring the positive perception and reputation of client organizations.
  6. Develop compelling narratives to help clients effectively tell their story, maintain their public image, and manage reputational risks.
  7. Be a trusted advisor to clients on navigating complex communication challenges, particularly during periods of financial or operational volatility.
  8. Build and leverage an extensive network of contacts across Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, enabling business development opportunities and creating access to high-level stakeholders.
Requirements:
  1. 15-20 years of experience in financial communications, investor relations, or corporate communications, with a proven track record in agency-side roles.
  2. Deep experience in handling IPO communications, crisis communications, and building investor relations strategies.
  3. Strong ability to work with and advise senior leadership (C-suite), including preparing them for media interactions and public appearances.
  4. Solid experience in dealing with high-level stakeholders, including institutional investors, analysts, and government representatives.
  5. Ability to craft compelling narratives and messages that resonate with target audiences, particularly investors and media.
  6. Fluency in Arabic and English is a must.
  7. Expats can be considered but should be Native Arabic speakers.
  8. Established and well-connected network within Saudi Arabia, including key decision-makers and high-level stakeholders in business and government.
  9. Experience in attending and representing clients at international roadshows and investor meetings.
  10. In-depth understanding of the Saudi Arabian business landscape and the region's economic and financial environment.
