Job Description- E & I EstimatorKey Responsibilities:1. Cost Estimation:o Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical and instrumentation projects, includingmaterials, labor, and overhead costs.o Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to develop accurateestimates.2. Bid Preparation:o Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop competitive bids for projects.o Ensure that all estimates are compliant with industry standards and client requirements.3. Market Research:o Conduct market research to identify current costs of materials, labor rates, and industrytrends.o Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotes and negotiatepricing.4. Value Engineering:o Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.o Suggest alternative materials or methods to reduce overall project costs.5. Project Management Support:o Assist project managers in tracking costs and budget performance during project execution.o Provide support for change order requests by estimating the cost impacts of design changesor scope alterations.6. Documentation:o Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.o Prepare reports and presentations for management and clients as needed.7. Collaboration:o Work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignmentand accuracy in project planning.Skills and Qualifications:o Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.o Professional certification (e.g., Certified Estimating Professional - CEP) is a plus.2. Experience:o Several years of experience in electrical and instrumentation estimating within the oil andgas sector or a similar industrial environment.o Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and regulations.3. Technical Skills:o Proficient in estimation software and tools (e.g., Excel, specialized estimating software).o Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, and safetystandards.4. Analytical Skills:o Ability to analyze complex technical information and translate it into cost estimates.o Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate cost calculations.5. Communication Skills:o Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with teammembers and stakeholders.o Ability to present estimates and proposals clearly and persuasively.6. Attention to Detail:o High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all estimates and documentation.7.
