Prosail Queensland JOB DESCRIPTION AND ROLES: Maintenance Manager/Boat Repairer Full time Salary: 5-days a week, approximately 40 hours, start and finish times will vary due to vessel departures and return times, lay days and slipping periods. Weekend work may be required. SALARY: Depending on skill set and qualifications Phone/Fuel: A phone contract can be organized or billing to be invoiced. Fuel is paid for if using own car. Driver’s license essential. Job Description: Manage, maintain, and repair a fleet of 3 maxi sailing vessels, 4 tenders, and 1 chase boat to ensure they are safe, compliant, and in good working order, meeting survey and legislation standards. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee, conduct, and plan routine maintenance and breakdown works to keep the fleet in good working order.
- Liaise and report to company directors on issues and required works.
- Record and document maintenance tasks and scheduling.
- Plan and book inspections for fire, gas, rigging, etc.
- Plan and manage slipping/haul-out periods.
- Undertake large-scale repairs and modifications during slipping/haul-out periods.
- Manage workshop space, equipment, and tools.
- Order parts, spares, and stock.
- Liaise with the operations manager for any required repairs and maintenance.
- Manage crew maintenance and education for tasks to be completed while on charter.
- Ensure vessel tenders are serviced and in good working order.
- Assist with operations when needed.
- Manage vessel movements between berths and anchor.
- Hand and power tool use.
- 12/24v electrical systems and wiring.
- Painting and product knowledge.
- Fiber glassing.
- Outboard servicing.
- Diesel engine and mechanical knowledge.
- Fabrication (not required but advantageous).
- Organization and planning.
- Vessel handling and berthing.
- MED3 or MED2.
- Master 24m.
- First Aid.
- Knowledge of local industry is extremely advantageous.
- Rotating roster.
- Weekend availability.
- Australia (Preferred).
