Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Officer to join our finance team. This role provides flexibility within the Finance Department by supporting various financial functions, including but not limited to processing credit applications, invoicing, debt collection, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general cashiering duties, and payroll duties. As an integral member of our team, the Finance Officer will ensure accurate financial transactions and timely reporting to support the hotel’s operations. Key duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assisting with weekly payroll processes, from processing, reviewing, and submitting for payment to management and statutory reporting.
- Supporting the month-end closing process by preparing account reconciliations and assisting with journal entries.
- Helping manage daily cash receipts, including reconciling cash, cheques, and foreign currency transactions.
- Maintaining accurate records of cash floats and assisting with monthly cash audits.
- Assisting with invoicing, debt collection, and follow-ups as needed.
- Providing general support to the Finance team with ad hoc tasks and compliance requirements.
- Previous experience in Finance Administration or a related position, preferably in the Hospitality industry.
- Understanding and basic knowledge of financial and accounting procedures, policies, and systems.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and financial software (Wage Easy).
- Ability to work independently or with a team and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Time management skills with the ability to multitask.
- Service-oriented with a meticulous eye for detail.
