This role has become available due to the current Market Collaboration Lead transitioning to a new development secondment. This role is available on a 12-month contract basis, but would be a great way to get into the business. The Market Collaboration Lead is a pivotal role and will work primarily with the Coles sales account team but also with supply planning, activity, and portfolio management within Mars Petcare, focusing on its assigned category. The role is within a team of 5 Demand Planners and reports to the Senior Demand Planning Manager. This role will facilitate, lead, or represent demand for its account or category through key weekly and periodic meetings with other key stakeholders (sales, supply, activity, portfolio), and builds strong customer relationships that enable forecast collaboration to ensure we deliver the best view of demand and drive S&OP discipline. What are we looking for?
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience which could include marketing, strategic revenue management, sales planning, supply/production scheduling/operations planning, and/or demand planning & forecasting.
- Prior experience working with a vendor or retailer in a similar function or setting.
- Experience using forecasting systems and tools such as JDA/Manugistics and or similar ERP/supply chain systems is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong quantitative and analytical experience using Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and other computer applications.
- Demonstrated experience of delivering effective presentations using qualitative and quantitative data to influence leadership behaviors and decisions.
- Lead monthly demand consensus reviews with sales account managers to align on forecast, documenting and challenging assumptions that make up the demand plan based on a fact-based approach.
- Facilitate monthly demand review feeder meetings with the customer sales team to ensure assumptions are validated and unresolved issues are escalated appropriately.
- Manage the review and integrity of opportunities, risks, and assumptions register; and ensure the demand plan is unbiased, accurate, and reflective of true demand.
- Maintain the integrity of all relevant system data to required standards, including setting up new SKUs, maintaining ranging, effective and discontinued dates, adjusting forecasting algorithms, seasonality parameters, and other data elements impacting the rolling forecast.
- Improve forecast accuracy and correct bias trends through root cause analysis within assigned customers and categories.
- Manage supply gaps to balance demand and supply in the short term within the category.
- Drive continuous improvements in demand planning, including digital transformation and process enhancements.
