We're on the lookout for a dynamic and forward-thinking Strategic and District Planning Team Leader to lead our Council's strategic land use policy planning functions and processes. About the role: This pivotal role is a mix of people management and technical planning. You'll lead a team of planning specialists, developing, implementing, and monitoring Council's resource management and land use policy, and our strategic, spatial planning and placemaking initiatives across the district. What We're Looking For:

1. At least seven years of experience in a planning or resource management policy-related position.
2. A relevant tertiary qualification.
3. Proficiency in leading policy, district plan, and spatial plan development.
4. Experience in community and iwi engagement.
5. Significant resource management implementation experience.
6. A comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework supporting the management of natural resources.
7. The ability to inspire and lead others.
8. A solid grasp of local government statutory and policy frameworks.
9. Proven communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
10. Experience in engagement and relationship management.
