Add expected salary to your profile for insights. As a member of the Product Engineering team, you are responsible for designing new products. From simple product customization to substantial technical challenges, you will deal with multiple interlocutors within an international and multi-cultural environment. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop products according to HID’s product development process. Follow tasks and timelines.
- Design RFID antennas and transponder products and optimize for manufacturing.
- Run RF/electrical simulations on new product requirements and ideas.
- Design testing devices for the development of new transponder products.
- Align HID’s measurements and analysis capabilities with customer/partner requirements based on international standards.
- Support manufacturing engineering and production in setting up a process control for maintaining correct performance on volume products.
- Research new technologies for antennas, transponders, and packaging.
- Perform analysis of competitor products and benchmark them versus HID products.
- Define test procedures and qualification plans for the new products in collaboration with the Test Engineering team.
- Make the project/product risk assessment; evaluate costs, planning, and alternatives.
- Conduct technical review meetings with different parties/stakeholders involved in a project.
- Set up new products including BOM and documents (product specifications and technical product requirements) in HID’s global collaboration tool.
- Ensure all activities within their area of control are conducted in a manner that complies with environmental control procedures and does not create unnecessary environmental impacts.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental operational controls and applicable legal and other requirements.
- Technical degree in RF, electronics, electrical or equivalent.
- Experience in project management is appreciated.
- Experience in design RFID tags is an asset.
- Knowledge of SRF calculations and approximation methods.
- Knowledge of integrated circuit chips and major manufacturers.
- Knowledge of electronic assembly and packaging methods would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban is a plus.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Computer-Aided Design software: Autodesk AutoCAD, DraftSight or similar is an advantage.
- RF simulation software: CST Microwave, Ansys HFSS or Keysight ADS is a plus.
- Project management tool: Atlassian JIRA, MIRO, or Smartsheet is an asset.
- Sense of responsibility, autonomous, pro-active, pragmatic, flexible, capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize.
- Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
- Ability to make decisions and to work under pressure.

- Employee shall have the ability to perform his duties from home when required.
- Compliance with all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to Quality, Security, Safety, Business Continuity, and Environmental systems.
- Travel and fieldwork may include international travel; therefore, the employee must possess or can acquire a valid Passport.
