As a Senior HSE Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the health, safety, and environmental engineering efforts within our Aerospace Technologies business unit. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of health and safety for our employees, compliance with environmental regulations, and the implementation of best practices in engineering-related safety. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of HSE professionals and other departments to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. You will report directly to our HSE&F Manager and you will work out of our Penang, Malaysia location. In this role, you will impact our organization by developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. Your leadership in driving continuous improvement in HSE performance will not only protect our workforce but also enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Your ability to identify safety initiatives and advocate for HSE practices will contribute to the overall resiliency and sustainability of our business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility.
2. Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
3. Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.
4. Develop and implement proactive safety measures, training, and policies to prevent accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses in the workplace.
5. Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures.
6. Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for HSE-related incidents, including accidents and environmental emergencies.
7. Develop and manage the HSE budget, allocate resources, and seek cost-effective solutions to maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
8. Promote environmental sustainability by implementing eco-friendly practices and minimizing the environmental impact of the organization's operations.
9. Establish and enforce quality control standards in HSE engineering, conducting regular inspections and performance assessments.
10. Leverage advanced technology solutions to enhance safety and environmental monitoring, reporting, and incident response.
11. Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.

YOU MUST HAVE

1. 6+ years of experience in HSE engineering.
2. Leadership and team management skills.
3. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
4. Proficiency in budget management and financial acumen.
5. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
6. Certification in HSE related field is a plus, such as Safety and Health Officer (SHO), Certified Environmental Professional In Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM), Radiation Protection Officer (RPO), Certified Environmental Professionals in Sewage Treatment Plant Operation (CePSTPO) or any other related certifications will be added advantage.
