Job Description Develop product(s) concept design that meets customer requirements & expectations, design, process & safety guidelines, using both 2D and 3D application software. Support in product design review internally with Electrical Engineering, Product Engineering, Product Quality, Procurement, Product Safety and participate in reviews with suppliers. Develop systems and procedures for the fabrication and test of lithium ion batteries, power supplies and chargers. Perform mechanical verification tests per product specifications and write test reports. Interpret & generate 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards. Perform mechanical tolerance analysis and DFMEA. Support prototype / pilot builds. Investigate appropriate materials and production processes. Clarify and solve design issues. Release mechanical prints & parts qualification reports. Set up & maintain bill of materials. Compile information for user manuals and/or instruction sheets. Support MOL (Maintenance of Line) activities for Energy’s product (Battery, Charger, Power Supply), mainly for PCN (Product Change Notice) and Regulatory Compliance update activities/qualifications. Qualify PCN (Material end of life, Tooling Change, Manufacturing changes etc.) to prevent the risk of unqualified material and quality issues, thereby avoiding disruption on continuity of supply. Collaborate with PSRC (Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance), Product team, Procurement, Program management and Quality team to ensure all Energy products are compliant with the latest Regulatory / Type Approval requirements. LI-TK1 Basic Requirements At least a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines. Minimum of 2 years working experience in related field. Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering design from concept through production release with a focus on DFM. Good analytical & problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of material properties (sheet metal and plastic). Able to work as an individual as well as a good team player. Good planning and organizational skills. Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Able to communicate & present conceptual ideas to technical audiences. Understanding of battery, power supply, and charger design will be an added advantage.
