The Legal Manager will play a critical role in managing the organization's legal affairs, with extensive legal expertise to ensure compliance and safeguard the company’s interests across its operations. This role will involve overseeing the review of contracts, documents, and correspondence, and providing expert legal advice to support the organization’s strategic goals. Reporting to the Legal Director, the Legal Manager will be instrumental in shaping corporate strategy, driving business growth, and navigating complex business environments. Key Responsibilities: Legal Oversight and Compliance: Draft, review and analyse all legal documents, contracts, agreements, correspondence, to ensure accuracy, legality, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure regional compliance with industry-specific regulations related to Manufacturing, Engineering, or Data Centres. Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and issues that may impact the organization. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks, including reducing litigation risks and ensuring effective management of legal claims. Legal Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior management to develop legal strategies that align with business goals and objectives. Provide proactive legal advice and solutions for internal stakeholders, with a focus on industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Corporation Governance: Assist in validating and ensuring compliance of company activities, shareholder resolutions, and board resolutions. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a Legal Consultant, providing guidance on complex legal matters. Foster a culture of compliance and excellence within the legal team. Policy Development: Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and industry-specific regulations. External Relations: Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders as necessary to represent the organization’s legal interests and maintain positive relationships. Training and Education: Conduct training sessions for staff on legal issues, compliance, and risk management to enhance awareness and adherence to legal requirements. Due Diligence: Conduct due diligence activities related to mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other business transactions. Assess legal risks and implications specific to the Manufacturing, Engineering, or Data Centre industries. Dispute Resolution: Responsible for handling litigation, arbitration, and other disputes. Legal Research and Analysis: Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the industry. Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making and ensure compliance with industry-specific legal standards. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree (LL.M) or additional certifications are preferred. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in corporate law. Experience in a multinational or complex organizational setting is advantageous. Legal Expertise: In-depth knowledge of corporate law, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, and regulatory compliance. Proven track record in managing legal issues and providing strategic legal advice. Soft Skills: Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound legal judgments and decisions under pressure. Ethical Standards: High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct. Upholds confidentiality and maintains strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
