About You You will be responsible for managing day-to-day legal issues for all Singapore entities (Otis, Sigma, 9G), Malaysia entities (Otis & Sigma) & Brunei (Otis). The responsibilities will include sales/procurement contract review process, customer disputes, and advising on risks faced by all entities. In addition, you will actively work as a Center Of Excellence (COE) across SEA countries for key legal policies like Data Privacy, Anti-Trust, etc. This is an individual contributor role. Key Responsibilities Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei Contract Review - Responsible for all non-standard contract reviews, including major contract tenders (on both the sale and procurement side), to ensure compliance with Otis contract approval policies and matrices. Maintain appropriate database / MIS of reviews done to facilitate long-term analysis of liability trends – turnaround time. Corporate Governance - Overseeing and managing corporate governance matters, including organizing board and shareholder meetings, filing with appropriate government authorities, obtaining relevant approvals, etc. Include managing the internal & external databases of these entities. Litigation management - Liaise with external counsels on litigation & arbitrations, support debt recovery litigation, and provide legal support for routine customer complaints & contractual risk management. Maintain MIS of litigations and ensure timely reporting to RHQ. Employee relations - Partner with HR teams across Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei for Employee Relations issues. Compliance - Partner with the Ethics team on program rollout or investigations on a need basis. SEA SEA Center of Excellence - Be the center of excellence across SEA for key legal policies like Data Privacy and Anti-Trust and take the lead in the rollout of training across SEA for various legal & compliance policies. ERM - Actively work with the SEA Legal Director on managing the overall Enterprise Risk Management process across SEA, including mapping the progress of implementation of mitigation actions. Business license repository - Manage the repository of business licenses across SEA and work with country legal teams on timely renewals. Monthly legal reports - Support getting inputs from various stakeholders for monthly legal reports at Singapore/Malaysia/Brunei & SEA levels. What you will need to be successful Legal qualification from a reputable University in Malaysia (mandatory). Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified as lawyers in Singapore or have worked in the legal field in Singapore. Post-qualification experience of more than 10 years. Have worked in an MNC environment or reputable law firm. Willing to travel when needed. Substantial experience or background in construction law or project execution industries. Good understanding of employment law and issues and substantial commercial law experience. Excellent verbal & written communication and influencing skills.
