Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct piping, relief valve, plant and equipment inspection as directed on the Onshore facilities.
  • Produce rough site isometric sketches of pipelines highlighting inspection points, problematic locations, extent of scaffold access, and insulation removal requirements.
  • Carry out visual surveys on Static Equipment, Pipelines, Tanks, and piping systems to determine the condition of individual components.
  • Determine the exposed pipe/fitting/support condition and insulation removal, scaffolding, and Non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements for condition assessment.
  • Produce an individual line condition report.
  • Highlight areas of concern to the Piping Inspector for rejection report generation.
  • Conduct detailed visual inspections of plant and equipment using suitable visual aids as required.
  • Provide concise, accurate technical reports on equipment inspected.
  • Report to the assigned Inspection Engineer.
  • Liaise with NDT Technicians for report review and interpreting results.
  • Update all reports in the APMS RMI system and submit for approval.
  • Ability to pass Permit to Work system and Consolidated Permit to Work system.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in the oil and gas related business for Diploma holders / five (5) years for Bachelor of Engineering.
  • Valid API certification for a minimum of three (3) years after certification.
  • Proven experience of in-service inspection on oil/gas process facilities.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of pressure relieving devices, conventional and in-service NDT techniques.
  • Ability to pass Permit to Work system.
  • Familiarity with NDT techniques and valid level-II NDT certificates.
  • API 510 certificate, API 570 certificate, API 653, and CSWIP 3.1 for Mechanical inspector.
  • Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Discipline from a reputed institute.
  • Good physical condition and fitness.
  • Fluent communication in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Fully familiar with construction drawings, isometric and P&IDs.
  • Computer literate and familiar with MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Job entails a high percentage of time on site.
