Job Purpose: To ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations to prevent downtime and achieve plant production targets according to procedures, standards and specifications. To ensure all activities carried out in the plant sites are executed according to all relevant standards and QHSE procedures, standards, and specifications. Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate work permits for work performed in the plant.
  • Maintain efficient and reliable operations to avoid plant downtime and meet production targets. Ensure daily instructions are fully understood and well applied.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as plant trips, accidents, or incidents and take necessary actions to restore normal operations and prevent future occurrences.
  • Perform frequent plant field inspection tours to ensure that field activities are conducted properly.
  • Ensure all machinery is in sound operating condition.
  • Validate that work requests issued by operators are acceptable in terms of timing and quality.
  • Validate the quality of maintenance work executed for operations in the plant.
  • Participate in scheduling maintenance work and first-level maintenance activities performed by operators.
  • Take all possible actions to reduce equipment downtime and ensure high plant availability.
  • Participate in troubleshooting investigations, identify operational trends, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions to support continuous improvement in plant operations.
Monitor O&M Performance:
  • Participate in plant performance and availability improvement plans or operations and maintenance cost reduction plans by highlighting defects in plant design or installation.
  • Submit necessary reports and recommendations to the Operations Manager regarding equipment status and/or problems. Keep track of all operations historical records.
  • Participate in scheduled plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
Reporting:
  • Manage financial planning to meet payables.
  • Review O&M reporting on monthly performance against budget and business plans.
  • Manage the preparation of monthly performance reporting and KPIs for the company.
  • Contribute to financial planning, reporting, and tracking.
  • Ensure all relevant reports are completed comprehensively, accurately, and timely, complying with international corporate governance principles and standards.
Health and Safety:
  • Ensure that all HSE measures and precautions are strictly adhered to during operations to prevent any incidents related to health, safety, and the environment.
Support with Other Tasks as Required:
  • Provide support on other tasks as required by the line manager, including but not limited to writing key documents and correspondence.
  • Lead projects or special assignments as required.
Compliance with Information Security Policies and Procedures:
  • Adhere to applicable Masdar information security policies and procedures and report security incidents and suspected weaknesses appropriately.
  • Protect assets under care (e.g., laptops and other devices) and information/credentials against unauthorized access, sharing, and/or damage/loss, in accordance with the Information Classification and Handling Procedure.
  • Clear desks of all sensitive material and log off/lock workstations at the end of the day and when leaving the desk for a prolonged period in accordance with Acceptable Usage Policies.
  • Refrain from installing, copying, or modifying any software on Masdar equipment without authorization.
QHSE:
  • Support Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) activities, policies, and objectives of Masdar and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participate (when requested) in QHSE audits, office inductions, incident reporting, and review of QHSE performances as applicable.
Desired Candidate Profile Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in the operation of a large power generation plant or continuous process plants, with at least 3 years in a similar position or supervisory role.
  • MUST have hands-on experience in the operation of Steam Turbines, High Pressure Boilers, Wind Turbines, and Solar.
  • Hands-on experience in the operation of Distributed Control Systems.
  • Hands-on experience in the operation of HV, MV & LV Electrical Systems.
Job-Specific Skills:
  • Good technical experience in wind power plants.
  • Able to communicate appropriately and manage interactions with all persons on site.
  • Experience managing different technical subcontractors on complex projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must be available to take on duties and ownership of situations at all times, including weekends and outside normal working hours.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Outlook, with a proven ability to learn new software programs as needed.
