Main Activities/Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the delivery of lab-based content of teaching programmes at undergraduate level under the guidance and supervision of senior colleagues.
2. Design and deliver a range of teaching laboratories at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to curriculum review and enhancement in a manner that supports a research-informed approach to student learning.
3. Develop lab-based teaching materials and methods with assistance and support to ensure that defined learning objectives are met.
4. Organise the timetabling of the laboratory sessions and ensure that each session is suitably staffed with academics, technical staff, and postgraduate research students.
5. Embed Health and Safety awareness training into the laboratory teaching programme.
6. Liaise with academic staff to ensure delivery of teaching laboratory exercises consistent with the taught component of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.
7. Support experimental activities within undergraduate and postgraduate final year dissertations.
8. Manage and prioritise own workload within agreed objectives to ensure that all activities are completed to deadlines.
9. Assess student progress and provide feedback, including setting and marking student assignments under supervision and contributing to the development of examination questions.
10. Contribute as a team member to Department administrative activities.
