We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated leader to join Civic Disability Services as an Operations Manager. This role will work across the accommodation portfolio. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, the Operations Manager will have accountability across a number of accommodation services located within South-East Sydney, South-West Sydney, and Sutherland Shire. The Operations Manager will be responsible for actively leading a team of Practice Leaders, supporting the overall operations within their allocated region, and ensuring best practice across all areas, including:

  • Person-centred planning, active supports, and advocacy
  • Quality service provision that supports client well-being, safety, and outcomes
  • Team culture, performance, engagement, and safety
  • Embedding a culture of continuous improvement
  • Financial sustainability, growth, and reporting
  • Contractual compliance and reporting
  • Innovation, research, and data analysis
  • Knowledge and information storage and sharing
  • Stakeholder engagement and customer service
  • Client risk and safeguarding reports
  • After-hours support services (on-call)
The Operations Manager role will be required to participate in the After-Hours Support Service on a rotating basis. ABOUT YOU You’re about empowering and developing your team so that they’re ready and able to provide the right support at the right moment. You have experience managing an accommodation portfolio within the disability sector and use your strong leadership and operational skills to drive best practice. You know that the things that work well today may not necessarily be the things that work tomorrow, and as such, you are forward-thinking, innovative, and adaptable. You are always looking at new opportunities to grow your business, your team, and your clients. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA You will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
  • A degree in social work, health, or a related discipline, and substantial leadership and community services experience would be preferable.
  • Previous experience in managing a team with demonstrated success in connecting people to the big picture and the role they play in creating something incredible.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing plans and actions to achieve quality, client, people, operational, financial, and risk targets.
  • The ability to translate sometimes complex concepts, policy, and legislative requirements into a language and format that clients, employees, and others can understand and use.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Teams.
  • Unrestricted driver’s licence and First Aid certification.

You will also need to have the capacity to determine priorities and hold your team accountable to meet deadlines whilst remaining in tune with the pressures the team is experiencing due to the day-to-day routines and requirements of their role.
