Our Applied Science practice leverages a unique combination of technologies and expertise to engineer practical solutions to problems of national and international importance. We apply expertise in solid and fluid dynamics, materials science, acoustics, risk assessments and computational simulation methods to solve complex problems. We perform research, mathematical modeling, software development and design to manage risks to life safety in military platforms and installations, ships and submarines, critical infrastructure, tall buildings, public facilities, industrial and petrochemical plants and automotive and airborne vehicles. The Role We have an opportunity for Engineers to join our Applied Science team in Perth, Australia where we use our expert knowledge to develop technical and bespoke solutions for our clients. Our clients include Oil & Gas and petrochemical operators, Engineering, Construction, Procurement and Maintenance (EPCM) contractors as well as specialised consultants and industry bodies. Responsibilities The role is dependent upon both the experience and skillset of the applicant and the projects underway in the office but will require supporting projects across a range of disciplines, including structural dynamics, technical safety and thermo-fluids. Recent example activities include:
- Fire Load Response Analysis;
- Blast analysis and design for critical infrastructure;
- Hydrocarbon fire modelling for offshore facilities;
- Advanced fluid flow modelling for process facilities;
- Seismic assessment and design;
- Risk assessment, qualitative and quantitative;
- Safety Case support.
