Roles and Responsibilities:
- Good product knowledge including design, machining, assembly, and surrounding processes.
- Manage the product technical portfolio and keep it up to date with support from Customization Design Engineer.
- Lead the technical aspects of relocation projects and customization projects by turning customer-specific requests into deliveries.
- Act as technical lead for Product & Quality team, providing technical advice, root cause analysis, and implementing short and long-term measures.
- Establish design guidelines and a checker to ensure good design quality.
- Support Change Request and Change Management, liaising with the engineering change department for ECR/ECN implementation at the production floor, keeping the product up to date.
- Involved in customer audits and provide technical support for Customer Complaints.
- Support laboratory activities.
- Drive product industrialization through design improvement, optimization, and cost-down projects.
- Industrialize new standard and customer-specific products in close cooperation with industrialization project managers, HQ-design engineers, and product engineers.
- Drive product optimization via collaboration with manufacturing departments, supplier development engineers, and project buyers.
- Render technical support to NPI products until handoff to operations.
- Support customers together with product management and application engineers.
- Perform design reviews and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) at a cross-departmental level.
- Work with Product Manager in conducting product training.
- Participate in PFMEA, DFMEA, and design walkthroughs.
- 70% engineering coordination tasks with 30% design-related tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree or Master in mechanical engineering.
- Sense of responsibility.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Team player, able to collaborate professionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills, with proficiency in English.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Skill in 3D-CAD.
- Good understanding of GD&T and its application.
- Proactive, agile, creative, self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CAD software – SIEMENS NX.
- Experience in change management.
- Experience in project management (structured working method).
- Knowledge of vacuum industry technology.
- Experience in design and application of mechatronic components (motor, sensor, heaters, etc.).
- Experience in production of cast parts, sheet metal parts, and injection-moulding parts.
