Compliance and Safety team is currently looking for Manager SMS within Technical Division, based in Doha Qatar.You will play a key role in managing the SMS implementation within Technical Division as well as being the designated focal point for the development, administration, and maintenance of effective safety management processes.Strategic AccountabilitiesDevelop, administer, and maintain effective safety management processes across Technical Division to ensure compliance with regulations.Promote the safety policy and foster a positive safety culture within QR Technical Division in coordination with Technical Management to help achieve the safety objectives of the organization.Develop and ensure the implementation of safety performance monitoring and measurement programs to help monitor the safety performance and health of the organization.Responsible for the continuous development and improvement of Safety Management Systems to ensure it remains relevant and accurate.Operational AccountabilitiesFacilitate hazard identification, risk assessment, and management through the establishment of proper processes and tools within Technical Division.Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks to an acceptable level in coordination with Technical Management to ensure timely closure.Provide periodic reports on safety performance to the Safety Action Group / Safety Review Board meetings to ensure timely action is taken where appropriate.Ensure safety performance is monitored against the safety policy and objectives using dedicated safety performance indicators and targets within the organization.Document and maintain key safety management processes in line with applicable regulations to ensure conformity and effectiveness through periodic review.Ensure that there is safety training available, and that it meets acceptable standards through the inclusion of human factor issues identified from occurrence investigations, audit findings, and other safety-related changes in the organization.Assist in establishing safety communication to ensure that personnel are aware of the safety management activities, safety-critical information is conveyed, and regular meetings with personnel are used to communicate safety matters.Facilitate the Safety Action Group in carrying out hazard identification from occurrence investigations and audit findings as well as in reviewing the effectiveness of previous safety actions and safety promotions.Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.Be part of an extraordinary storyYour skills. To us, impossible is only a challenge.Join us as we dare to achieve what's never been done before.QualificationsBachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experienceRelevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level in Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or relevant major.8-year experience in the Continuing Airworthiness / Maintenance organization environment/ Quality AssuranceSafety management experience3 years as an internal/certified auditor.Training on QCAA/EASA regulationsTraining on SMS RequirementsTraining on IOSA RequirementsKnowledge of ICAO standards and European requirements on safety managementTraining on Accident/Incident investigationsTraining on Root Cause AnalysisReceived training on at least 2 aircraft types operated by Qatar Airways, Training on auditing techniquesAbout Qatar Airways GroupOur story started with four aircraft.
