ABOUT THE ROLE We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled industrial electrician to join our team in Port Hedland. The main focus of this role is maintaining stackers, conveyors and workshop equipment at Qube’s Utah point port facility. As continuous improvement is a strong focus, project work is often required.
  • Location: Port Hedland, Utah Point port facility
  • Roster: Residential Shift Roster (8 & 6 – day and night shift)
  • Residential: Housing Allowance payment provided

Specific Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical inspections (preventative maintenance tasks) as directed by the electrical supervisor on all fixed and mobile equipment
  • Carry out electrical maintenance (corrective maintenance tasks) as directed by the electrical supervisor on all fixed and mobile equipment
  • Attend to, fault find, and rectify equipment breakdowns
  • Complete any electrical works as recommended by Original Equipment Manufacturer
  • Maintain statutory electrical compliance
  • Administrative tasks: create work orders, close off work orders, complete daily handovers, enter reportable electrical work into electrical log books & communicate effectively via email
  • Scope work and purchase equipment
  • Identifying and implement maintenance opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in any meetings required, including; any prestart, maintenance meetings and HSEQ meetings
  • Maintain a safety focus and engage in hazard identification risk assessment process
  • Liaise with operations to effectively manage time and execute weekly work plan
  • Comply with Qube policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Electrical mechanic – “A” Grade WA Endorsed
  • Minimum of two years mining experience – Desired but not essential
  • High Voltage ticket – Highly desirable
  • High Risk License, EWP, fork lift – Highly desirable
  • Experience in fixed plant
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
  • Suitable skills using Microsoft Office, Excel, Power point and maintenance management systems
  • Ability to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolution
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
  • Ability to work well within a small team environment
Skills
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills and able to read electrical drawings
  • Good time management and communication with other work groups
  • Safety focused and work well in a team environment
  • Experience in a mining environment
