Smit Lamnalco Towage (Australia) Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time IT Systems Administrator to join our team. Option to be based in either Brisbane or Cairns; however, travel to our other ports within Australia and PNG is an essential part of this role. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability for our operations. Job Description What you'll be doing
- Manage and maintain the company's IT systems, including servers, networks, and software applications
- Implement, maintain & optimise IT hardware environment standards, Internet connectivity and communications for offices and vessels
- Support on installing and maintaining applications on the IT systems on board vessels & office.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to end-users, ensuring prompt resolution of IT-related issues
- Proactively identify and address potential IT problems, implementing preventative measures to minimise downtime
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to coordinate IT projects and initiatives
- Continuously research and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve the company's IT capabilities
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide detailed reports on IT systems and activities
- Manage the Active Directory & Exchange server environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an IT Systems Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, network management, and active directory
- Proficient in the use of monitoring and automation tools, as well as scripting languages
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve IT issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with end-users and stakeholders
- A relevant bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred
