The Role As a Tax Paralegal , you will play an integral role in supporting the Tax Practice Area by managing a variety of tasks and projects. This is a hands-on position that involves collaboration with attorneys and other professionals to deliver top-tier service to clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation for interviews, productions, depositions, hearings, trials, client meetings, and transactional closings.
  • Conduct research using tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other industry-specific platforms, providing insightful guidance to attorneys.
  • Retrieve and organise materials, including cases, statutes, rules, and filings, ensuring accurate and timely access to information.
  • Support the team in maintaining and improving file integrity, case management systems, and internal workflows.
  • Participate in Tax Practice Area initiatives and projects, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.
  • Manage resources responsibly while adhering to firm policies and procedures.
What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, legal acumen, and exceptional organisational skills. Key qualifications include:
  • A Law Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law, or similar qualification.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a legal assistant role or comparable position.
  • A solid understanding of Tax Practice Area concepts and procedures.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to foster effective collaboration.
  • A flexible approach to hours and the ability to travel when required.
