Registered Nurse (RN) for NIGHTS with Complex Paediatric Homecare Client in Ajax

The Care Company is looking for awesome, self-driven and highly organized and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care to a complex paediatric home care client who is going to be discharged home from SickKids to Ajax. Shifts 8 hour shifts available, needs care 7 days/week, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule. Applicants must be available for in-person bedside training sessions at SickKids Hospital. **The client is looking for an OVERNIGHT nurse who can work 11pm-7am on a consistent basis.** Someone who can commit to the set schedule mentioned above with no interruptions to set weekly schedule Requirements General Duties and Responsibilities: This client requires a nurse with a specific set of skills to provide care for the following interventions: PICC line, pain pump management, G-tube (feeds and meds), TPN feeds,IV infusion, meds/narcotics via IV push, DBS for dystonia seizures, oxygenation via NP & suctioning Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly Correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure clients health and well-being must be able to commit to a consistent, on-going, weekly schedule of overnight shifts. Nursing Requirements: This client requires a nurse with a specific set of skills to provide care for the following interventions: - PICC Line care **experience is a MUST**- G-tubes (feeds and medication)- TPN feeds - IV infusion, meds/narcotics via IV push - DBS for dystonia seizures - oxygenation via NP & suctioning Other Requirements: An asset if you own a vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required) Negative TB Test completed within the last year CNO Registration COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year. Valid CPR/First Aid certification Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
