Industrial Engineer (Junior)

Our well-established client in the pharmaceutical industry has a vacancy available for a Junior Industrial Engineer based in Parktown. To ensure that the business is operating as efficiently as possible with the most innovative and modern solutions.

Key Performance Areas (Core, essential responsibilities – outputs of the position)

1. Project Management
   1. Manage projects across the business
   2. Implement agile and waterfall project methodologies
   3. Conduct project impact meetings with scorecards
   4. Diagnose and solve bottlenecks in the projects
2. Business Process Improvement (KAIZEN)
   1. Implement kaizen principles to improve business processes
   2. Act as an internal consultant/process expert for the various departments
   3. Identify business issues and conduct workshops around problem definition
   4. Investigate and measure the extent of the problem in each of the departments
   5. Solve the problem using the most efficient method
   6. Maintain and control the systems, where solutions have been implemented
   7. Redesigning business processes to work as optimal as possible to save time and resources
3. Data Analytics
   1. Building and maintaining the company scorecards that track company and departmental goals with Power BI
   2. Conduct analysis, scenario planning and simulation through mathematical/management accounting models
   3. Promote a culture of data-driven decision making
4. Innovation/research
   1. Facilitating the workshop to provide the platform for engineers and data analysts to innovate and share ideas
   2. Automating business processes through RPA (Power Automate, Power Bi, Smartsheet Automation, chatbots)
   3. Data science through ML and AI
   4. Researching what ideas related to technology and 4IR can be brought into the business

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION

1. Degree (Bachelors) o BEng Industrial Engineer/Business Process Engineer Education

Competencies (Advantageous)

1. Management Accounting Certification (high-level financial understanding)
2. Project Management
3. Lean Six Sigma

Experience

1. 0 – 2 Years experience

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS/PHYSICAL COMPETENCIES

1. Data analysis systems (Power Bi)
2. Project management tools (Smartsheet)
