Johannesburg, Randburg ZAR 400000 - 500000 We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance Lead to oversee and manage the legal, regulatory, and compliance functions within our institution. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing institutional frameworks, governance structures, and the rollout of the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), requiring significant planning and organization.Qualifications and Experience:
- A legal qualification (LLB or equivalent), preferably with admission as an attorney or advocate.
- Extensive experience in a legal, regulatory, or compliance role, preferably within the higher education sector.
- Strong understanding of South African higher education regulatory frameworks, including DHET and CHE requirements.
- Proven experience in policy development, governance, and institutional planning.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage comprehensive frameworks for the institution’s governance structures.
- Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of the Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) across the institution.
- Lead the development and updating of institutional policies to ensure they align with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Co-manage compliance aspects related to obligations under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and the Council on Higher Education (CHE).
- Handle and resolve student disciplinary matters in accordance with institutional policies and legal standards.
- Draft and develop new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies to support institutional operations.
- Regularly monitor and report on compliance across all aspects of the institution's operations.
