Triple Zero Victoria (formerly Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority ) was established in December 2023. The transition to Triple Zero Victoria will continue to occur throughout 2024. Emergency call-taking and dispatch is at the heart of what Triple Zero Victoria does. Emergency Communications Officers receive and process all emergency calls from the community and our agency partners. The purpose of the ECO role is to quickly and accurately process calls for fire, police, ambulance, and SES services so that the appropriate response can be provided as effectively as possible. Ultimately, this leads to lives being saved, offenders being apprehended, fires being controlled, and serious incidents being managed.
