Junior Tax Accountant - Accountancy Practice Junior Tax Accountant required for a boutique practice in Melbourne. Your new company This is a modern boutique accounting firm based in Melbourne CBD, who are looking for a Junior Tax Accountant to provide tax advice and compliance for their client base. The firm is small but ambitious, and has a great working culture for someone looking to further their accountancy career. Your new role This role will see you service tax and business services for the firm's loyal client base. Your main responsibilities will be:

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for various entities, including individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Assist with the preparation of BAS, IAS, and payroll tax lodgements.
• Perform reconciliations and assist with bookkeeping tasks using Xero.
• Support the firm's administrative functions, including corporate secretarial duties and phone calls.
• Maintain accounting systems using Xero XPM, Excel, CAS360, and BGL products.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional service to clients.
• Apply critical thinking to problem-solving tasks and suggest process improvements.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

What you'll need to succeed In order to be considered for this role, you will have:

• 1-2 years of experience in an accounting firm.
• Bachelor of Accounting or equivalent degree.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and technical skills.
• Proficiency in Xero, XPM, Excel, CAS360, and BGL products.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interaction with team members and clients.
