Job Summary: A Retail Florist should be a passionate and skilled florist, have a deep appreciation for floral arrangements and a strong understanding of various flowers, plants, and design techniques. The Retail Florist will be responsible for assisting customers, creating beautiful floral arrangements, managing inventory, and maintaining the overall presentation of our retail space. Key Responsibilities: Greet and assist customers in selecting appropriate floral arrangements for various occasions such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events, or funerals. Create custom floral arrangements based on customer preferences and requests, while ensuring quality and design aesthetics. Knowledge of different flowers, plants, and foliage, including their seasonal availability, care requirements, and suitability for different arrangements. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail space, including arranging displays and ensuring all products are properly labelled and priced. Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, liaising with the Purchasing Department for the ordering of supplies as needed, and ensuring freshness of floral products. Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to customer needs, offering expert advice, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Process transactions accurately using the POS system and handle cash and credit card payments. Collaborate with team members to execute promotional events and other retail initiatives to drive sales and enhance customer engagement. Adhere to all health and safety regulations including proper handling and disposal of floral materials and use of protective equipment. Requirements: Previous experience working as a florist in a retail environment preferred. Strong knowledge of floral design principles, techniques, and trends. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design and aesthetics. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively. Experience in handling POS systems and sales transactions. Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons.
