Salary : $91,702 - $104,753 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Locations : Adelaide - SA, Canberra CBD - ACT, Sydney CBD - NSW The Role Navy Engineering Branch are looking for Program Engineering Liaison Officer (PELO) to fill multiple vacancies. PELOs are responsible for synthesizing the provision of specialist engineering and technical advice. They provide critical systems engineering services and engineering liaison functions across the entire lifecycle of maritime programs. They will develop and require an in-depth knowledge of Navy Material Governance as well as the Seaworthiness Management System framework, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. You will work closely with Navy, Defence acquisition and sustainment organisations, and industry to :
- Develop and maintain key customer relationships.
- Assist with early stage requirements development and compliance activities with Program Sponsors.
- Integrate and deliver engineering products and services to new projects, in-build programs and in-service assets.
- Facilitate engineering advice to customers using recognised engineering authorities.
- Enable Navy to comprehend and understand complex technical capabilities that contribute to defence of the Nation.
- Identification, quantification & management of risks with maritime capabilities.
- Capture / maintain technical knowledge for efficient and effective use.
- Ensure Navy is an intelligent & informed customer.
- Develop, identify, apply, measure and advise on Navy’s materiel requirements.
- Identify and contribute to implementation of solutions (working with industry and other parts of defence to remediate issues and develop new system designs).
- Assess, analyse and advise on effective technical risk management options.
- You will demonstrate strong technical expertise, applying engineering principles to support systems integration and technical outcomes.
- Be highly motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Understanding of engineering due diligence and safety management principles.
- Be able to approach technical challenges with both strategic and tactical thinking.
