Test and Commissioning Manager

Our client - the largest provider of multimodal public transport in Australia and New Zealand is seeking applications from seasoned Test and Commissioning managers to be part of their Automatic Vehicle Monitoring project - which involves requirement management and testing of system and sub-systems. Reporting to the program manager you will be responsible for:

• System integration
• Conducting system-level tests according to the defined test plans
• Documenting test results, defects, and any deviations from expected outcomes

It is a contract job for 12 months with excellent daily/hour rates. Other benefits include a hybrid working arrangement (2 days in Melbourne CBD office and 3 days from WFH). Skills & Experience required for the role:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in software testing is desirable, particularly the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) certification.
• Hands-on in systems integration testing , preferably involving operational control systems or similar complex systems.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles , methodologies, and best practices.
• Strong background in requirement management using Jira/Confluence.
• Proficient in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements.
• Experience in executing end-to-end systems integration tests and identifying and documenting defects.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit ) and the ability to develop and execute automated test scripts.
• Solid knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of remote, mobile monitoring and communications systems, and related technologies is highly desirable.
