We are looking for an experienced Environmental Monitoring Technician or Field Technician to assist with the assembly, installation and maintenance of Novecom’s environmental monitoring systems located throughout Queensland. As mobility is a key requirement for this role, a company vehicle is supplied. Some of our clients are in remote locations, so you will be away for two to five nights at a time. We organise your accommodation and pay a LAFHA for each night you are away from home. Due to our flexible work policy and mobility required for this role, we will consider applications from Technicians based in Mackay, Emerald or Rockhampton areas. We will also consider applicants who are willing to relocate to one of these locations. If you enjoy driving and working autonomously, this role may be for you. About the Role
- Undertake maintenance and calibration of continuous environmental monitoring systems in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, OEM manuals and operating procedures.
- Manage customer relationships and foster a culture of collaboration.
- Plan and execute scheduled and unscheduled operations and maintenance activities.
- Assist with the development, assembly, and maintenance of environment monitoring equipment.
- Troubleshoot, provide customer technical support, fault finding, service and maintenance.
- Conduct investigations in a documented and controlled manner, and report findings.
- Implement, comply with and enforce environmental and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Provide high-level technical support to customers and internal staff as required.
- Install and commission new monitoring systems in accordance with Novecom’s operating procedures.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of ambient air quality monitoring systems, including TEOM, BAM, laser photometry methods and meteorological equipment would be an advantage.
- Qualifications or previous experience in electronics, electrotechnology or radio communications would be an advantage.
- Ability to install, calibrate and maintain electronic field systems or environmental monitoring equipment would be an advantage.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Structured thinking and sound analytical skills in fault-finding and problem solving.
- Positive attitude, highly self-motivated and good attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions, work with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- Extensive hands-on experience in soldering, wiring extra low voltage power systems, and general fit-out of measurement and control equipment.
- Current Driver’s Licence and ability to travel as required.
