The Role: As Blinq’s Head of Finance & Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's operational strategy and ensuring the seamless execution of day-to-day activities. Your mission is to build scalable, efficient processes that support Blinq’s rapid growth while aligning operations with strategic business goals. You will oversee both finance and business operations, ensuring cross-functional alignment, optimising resources, and leading business-critical initiatives. What You Will Own:
- Operational Strategy & Execution: Develop, refine, and implement Blinq's operational strategies to support business objectives. Ensure processes scale with company growth.
- Finance Oversight: Provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring effective financial planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring. You will work closely with finance to develop forecasts, track key financial metrics, and ensure financial sustainability.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate, optimise, and redesign company processes to drive efficiency and alignment across all teams. Oversee operational workflows, planning cycles, and business performance metrics.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with department heads to identify and address operational and financial challenges. Drive cross-departmental coordination to align goals and ensure smooth operational execution.
- Project Management: Oversee the execution of high-impact projects, from initial scoping through delivery, ensuring on-time completion and alignment with company priorities.
- Resource Management: Ensure efficient use of resources across the business, including budget, personnel, and tools. Work to identify and mitigate bottlenecks in key processes.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and manage both the operations and finance teams, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify potential risks, both operational and financial, ensuring Blinq complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for both operational and financial excellence, providing insights and recommendations to the leadership team based on data-driven analysis.
- Vendor and Partner Management: Manage relationships with key external vendors, ensuring that partnerships are aligned with Blinq’s business needs and goals.
- Strategic Thinker with Execution Focus: You have a proven track record of leading operational and financial initiatives from concept through execution.
- Process-Oriented and Financial Acumen: You are highly skilled in building scalable processes that increase efficiency and have strong financial oversight capabilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial performance.
- Leadership Experience: You have experience leading teams and driving cross-functional alignment across fast-growing organisations, particularly in operations and finance.
- Data-Driven Decision-Maker: You rely on data to make informed decisions, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and financial performance.
- Adaptable and Resilient: You thrive in a dynamic startup environment and are comfortable managing uncertainty while keeping teams aligned and focused.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: You are skilled at communicating across all levels of the organisation, ensuring that operations and finance are clear, aligned, and efficient.
- 8+ years of experience in operations, business management, or a similar role, ideally with financial oversight responsibilities within a fast-growing tech startup.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects, teams, and financial performance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
- Expertise in scaling processes, managing budgets, and driving both operational and financial efficiency.
- Experience working closely with C-level executives to align operations and finance with business strategy.
