Senior Database Developer (8+ years/ Startups/ Energy industry)
Job details
Responsibilities: Design and develop database architectures and systems based on certain assumptions and user requirements. Implement and manage database security protocols to protect sensitive data. Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. Develop, debug and optimize existing and new database systems to ensure high performance. Migrate or create subset of existing database to create our own workflows or to utilise data in AI/ML models. Developed ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources, including transactional databases, web logs, and third-party APIs. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including backups, indexing, and performance tuning. Collaborate with front-end developers and data analysts to ensure seamless data integration. Document database design, operation, and backup processes. Good to have: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Prior 8-10 years of experience in database development and management. Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of data management, including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with software development and user interface web applications. Experience with cloud databases and services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, and PostgreSQL). Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra). Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes. Experience with database automation tools and scripting languages. Experience in PowerBI integrations with SQL or other databases. Experience with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing.
