Responsibilities Understanding curriculum standards and Principles of English language. Creating stimulating lesson plans to foster maximum student engagement in English language. Encouraging, through the study of texts and social interaction, an awareness and appreciation of various perspectives from diverse cultures. Enabling students to communicate in the English language they have studied in a range of contexts and for various purposes. Developing international-mindedness through the study of English language, cultures, and global issues. Developing students’ understanding of the relationship between English languages and familiar cultures. Adjusting teaching practices to support differentiated learning. Developing students’ awareness of the importance of English language in relation to other areas of knowledge. Providing opportunities for intellectual engagement and the development of critical and creative thinking skills through English language learning and inquiry. Fostering curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong enjoyment of English language learning. Participating in the mentoring and supervising of the Extended Essay component of the IB for English Language and world studies. Identifying and teaching study skills that will develop students' ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Planning activities and worksheets to include approaches to learning. Requirements 2-3 years of IB Teaching experience. Masters in English with an International Teaching Qualification certificate qualifying for IB accreditation. Computer literacy required for software use. Fluent English: reading, writing, speaking; professional command of the language. Strong technology application skills.
