Position Title: Head of Flavour Creation and Innovation Location: Uttar Pradesh Employment Type: Full-Time / Consultant (Remote work with periodic visits to the facility) open for Both. Role Overview Our client is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Flavourist with a proven track record of success in flavour creation and development. This role demands exceptional expertise in sweet flavours, with a particular focus on flavours with modifying properties, tea flavours, and encapsulated flavours. The successful candidate will spearhead innovative flavour development projects, ensure quality excellence, and play a pivotal role in driving business growth within the competitive flavours and fragrances industry. Key Responsibilities • Lead the creation and development of innovative sweet flavours, tea flavours, encapsulated flavours, and other specialized flavour profiles for a wide range of applications in the food and beverage industry. • Collaborate with customers to understand their unique requirements, prepare prototypes, and deliver tailored flavour solutions that exceed expectations. • Drive research and innovation in flavour technology, exploring new raw materials, analytical methods, and cutting-edge techniques such as encapsulation to maintain a competitive edge. • Ensure all flavours meet strict regulatory, sensory, and quality standards, complying with both local and international guidelines. • Work closely with R&D, sales, marketing, and production teams to align flavour development initiatives with broader business objectives. • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior flavourists, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment. • Take full ownership of the profitability of the flavour portfolio, optimising cost-efficiency while maintaining the highest product quality. • Visit the facility periodically to oversee projects, address challenges, and engage with on-site teams to ensure seamless execution. (If as a consultant) Qualifications Education: Graduate/Post-Graduate in Food Technology or a related field. Experience: A minimum of 10 to 20 years of hands-on experience in flavour creation and development, with demonstrated expertise in sweet flavours, modified properties, and encapsulation techniques. Technical Skills • Expertise in flavour creation techniques and sensory evaluation to develop impactful and market-driven flavour solutions. • Proficient in using/understanding analytical instruments such as Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and in-depth knowledge of raw materials. • Strong understanding of global and local regulatory standards affecting flavour production and application. • Proficiency in advanced encapsulation and delivery technologies for flavours and flavours with modifying properties. • To conceptualise and innovate new flavour trends and develop them. Behavioral and Leadership Skills • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage multidisciplinary teams. • Creative problem-solving abilities to tackle complex challenges in flavour innovation. • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers. • A strategic mindset focusing on profitability, efficiency, and long-term business growth.
