Applications Engineer, Australia Lead the Australian sales engineering function with initiative-taking and responsive customer engagement as an enabler of scalable portfolio growth. Utilize or develop processes and tools to efficiently meet customer application engineering, installation, compliance testing, and troubleshooting needs. This role is a crucial member of Sy-Klone International’s customer engagement and support model, focused on successfully installing and adopting Sy-Klone International’s engine and cab clean air products. This role requires direct interaction and relationships with customers, sales, sales engineering, R&D, and other internal / external stakeholders to integrate Sy-Klone products successfully. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Define and implement sales engineering best practices, processes, tools, and methods to strengthen the foundation for product support and troubleshooting to support scalable revenue acceleration.
- Collaborate with distributors to understand application opportunities at mine sites and develop project plans to collect essential information for designing installation kit accessories and creating installation instructions.
- Work with distribution partners to understand application opportunities, develop differential value propositions, and facilitate solutions, including engineering, installation, and compliance testing for heavy mobile equipment.
- Produce product designs and technical drawings for components and assemblies, utilizing solid modeling CAD software.
- Understand and apply the engineering requirements of ISO 23875, including CO2 levels, particulate matter concentration, filter efficiency, cab pressurization, and real-time monitoring to set up the cab air quality system and test for compliance.
- Engage customers directly and remotely through various communication channels to support sales efforts. Utilize professional presentation skills to drive high service levels for customer communication and support.
- Answer technical questions related to Sy-Klone International’s product line and Mining Strategy Value Stream.
- Collect information to prepare field observation and test reports.
- Utilize the Sy-Klone train-the-trainer model to educate the customer’s technical and mechanical resources on the product, installation, compliance testing, and troubleshooting processes.
- Support the development of machine-specific kits and application best practices through detailed documentation, photographs, and field application reports.
- Coordinate with internal teams to support the development of training manuals, ISO 23875 operations and maintenance instructions, user guides, and other customer enablement resources.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field; advanced engineering degree a plus.
- 5+ years of demonstrated ability to apply engineered products for a manufacturer of engineering, technical, and patented products; preferred experience in filtration, engine, or HVAC products, especially for mobile equipment, and interface with mobile machinery OEM engineering, quality, and product teams.
- Over five years of leading product teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders; ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Passion for technical, high-performance products with the desire to learn and, after that, teach how Sy-Klone products are engineered, their key performance attributes, and installation and servicing requirements; capacity for learning and mastering air quality standards, testing and measurement methods, mechanical and electrical requirements, and design attributes.
- Microsoft Office and SolidWorks (or any other 3D Modeling Software).
- Ability to travel.
- Prolonged periods of in-field support at various locations within Industrial Environments.
- Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, and other positions to provide entire field technical installation and repair support.
- Must lift up to 50lbs at times and 20lbs regularly.
- Normal auditory and visual acuity, ambulation, and dexterity.
