Job Title: Registered Attorney with Debt Collection Expertise Job Type: Full-time Position Overview: We are seeking a registered attorney with specialized experience in debt collection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debt recovery litigation, creditor’s rights, and compliance with debt collection regulations. This role involves managing a portfolio of debt collection cases, providing legal advice, and representing clients in court as needed. The attorney will play a key role in ensuring efficient, effective, and legally compliant debt recovery processes. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Case Management: Handle a portfolio of debt collection cases from initiation to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate progression through the legal process.
  2. Legal Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings related to debt recovery, including negotiation, mediation, and litigation.
  3. Document Preparation and Review: Draft, review, and file necessary legal documents, including demand letters, summons, complaints, motions, and other court documents in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  4. Client Advising: Provide expert legal advice to clients on debt collection matters, including assessment of claims, potential risks, and recommended strategies for recovery.
  5. Compliance: Ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and stay updated on regulatory changes that impact debt collection practices.
  6. Negotiation: Conduct settlement negotiations to achieve favorable resolutions while maintaining professional and ethical standards.
  7. Research: Perform legal research on cases, precedents, and statutory changes affecting debt collection practices.
  8. Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including compliance, finance, and customer service, to optimize the debt collection process and maintain positive client relationships.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: LLB
  2. Licensure: Must be a registered and licensed attorney and LPC Registration.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in debt collection, creditor’s rights, or a related area of law.
  4. Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Ability to manage a high volume of cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
  5. Professionalism: Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining the integrity of the firm and its clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in collections litigation or creditors’ rights.
  2. Familiarity with bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings.
  3. Experience working within financial services or a similar industry.
