Main Purpose
The purpose of this position is to review and identify processes requiring automation. This position reports to: Process Engineering Manager.Duties & Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:- Review and identify processes for automation.
- Equipment selection based on performance, reliability, cost, and compatibility.
- Programming and control including hardware, software, and firmware.
- Prototyping and testing: Build prototypes of identified processes to evaluate their performance and validate their designs by collecting data, analyzing results, and making improvements based on the findings.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance: Diagnose and rectify issues related to automation systems, identify faults, and implement corrective measures to ensure optimal operation. Routine maintenance and calibration tasks may be required.
- Research and innovation: Remain up to date with the latest technologies.
- Documentation and reporting: Document design decisions, system configurations, and modifications made during the development process. Create technical documentation in the form of user manuals and specifications to assist maintenance and future improvements.
- Compliance and standards: Ensure designs and automation testing systems comply with all independent safety certification bodies.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor's degree or B-Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience in automation.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in software programming languages (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB) and familiarity with control systems and automation technologies.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Project management knowledge.
- Manufacturing experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
