We are in search of a visionary leader who sets the example of becoming the backbone of our exceptional Production Team. The individual must be able to redefine efficiency and raise the bar for target achievements.Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations.
- Work alongside Production Planners to schedule weekly production targets for all six (6) Production lines with a total staff complement of 500.
- Manage production plan for on-time completion and delivery.
- Fostering the talent, performance and future capabilities of your direct reports and the wider team through effective management and developmental initiatives.
- Identify and address key concerns that may alter or influence the production plan.
- Embody strong, visible leadership that nurtures a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Ensuring adherence to conduct/regulatory/statutory labour laws and legislation, health and safety, quality management, financial and risk standards within standard manufacturing processes.
- Manage WIP (Work-In-Progress) report and track developments and delivery dates of such.
- Assuming ownership of first-line operational risks and controls, proactively addressing challenges as they arise.
- Work excess time as per Production requirements; be prepared to report for duty on call-outs, nightshift and work weekends on an ad-hoc basis.
- Collate and analyse data with Line Managers and facilitate production reports for presentations at monthly management committee meetings.
- Provide Technical expertise support to the Production Lines to eliminate bottlenecks and to ease production flow.
- Plan, schedule and arrange department forecasts and budget involvement raising Capex requirements too.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Production Management/Operations Management Diploma or Degree required.
- Business Management or Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage.
- 10 years production management experience within the Textile Manufacturing industry required.
- Proficient with PC applications, especially experience with in-house applications.
- Excellent communication skills and good command of the English language with Zulu and French as an added advantage.
