Job Description

Our client in Robertson is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated, and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the abovementioned position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the department that includes but is not limited to efficiency, productivity, staff, equipment, hygiene, health & safety, and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities complying with organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work team members/Daily pack plan.
  • Monitor and analyze volumes and throughput vs capacity.
  • Verify stocks and investigate delays.
  • Manage the volumes of fruit.
  • Compute the quantities, qualities, and types of materials required by production programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery of suppliers.
  • Control expenditure and ensure the efficient use of resources.
  • Control chemical stock and oversee the mixture thereof.
  • Direct, supervise, and evaluate the work activities of professional clerical, service, maintenance, and other personnel.
  • Maintain good quality according to packing standards.
  • Monitor correct packaging material, correct PLU, fruit quality packed, packing patterns used, and carton weights.
  • Ensure that the area of responsibility is clean and that all hygiene, health, and safety policies and rules are followed.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the production line supervisors on table volumes, fruit quality issues, incorrect sizing, and PLU labeling for rectification.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Grade 12 as a minimum, but a qualification in agricultural production management would be beneficial. #J-18808-Ljbffr
