Electronic Engineer

The division's product design expertise lies in creating innovative, battery-powered consumer LED lighting solutions and seamlessly integrating electronic switches into a wide range of consumer products.

Overall Purpose:

Product design and development of electronic modules for mass production within ISO framework. Research and development of innovating ideas for new product design concepts. Co-ordinating product development, design, testing and production within a team. Managing project scope before, during and after delivery. Provide technical guidance to designated team(s). Support the development of individuals by providing motivation, support, and leadership to promote career growth. Act as a domain specialist and support wider and more in-depth knowledge growth of individuals and teams. High-level direction, product, technical strategies, and technologies.

Core Responsibilities Include:

1. Capturing customer product requirements in a specification to deliver against.
2. Analog and digital circuit design and schematic capturing and review.
3. Co-ordinating PCB design and layout.
4. Embedded firmware development for MCUs and ASICs.
5. Testing and qualifying prototype products for mass production.
6. Ensuring compliance with customer specifications and requirements.
7. Compliance to sustainability standards.
8. Customer support with integration and design for manufacturing.
9. Technical support of third-party manufacturers during the production process.
10. Support of production and testing team.
11. Maintaining and supporting products post-design (cradle to grave principle).
12. Maintaining QMS system for own products/projects.
13. Development of concept demonstrators and marketing collateral.
14. Collaboration with other teams to support the development of new technology.
15. Distribute information to team members and stakeholders.
16. Collaborating with teams to identify risk and resolve technical problems.
17. Guiding a team through technical issues and challenges.
18. Monitoring and evaluating technical and leadership growth of team members.

Skills Required:

1. Project management skills to ensure products are delivered on time according to the customer requirements.
2. Electronic product design and development experience.
3. Any related hands-on experience in product manufacturing, testing and quality assurance.
4. Working knowledge of Altium Designer or similar CAD package.
5. Basic CAD modelling of designs in SolidWorks or similar.
6. Proficient with MCU firmware development in (C, C++) as well as Gitlab for version control.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively interface with internal teams, external stakeholders and customers.
8. Working knowledge of quality management system (ISO9001:2015) as part of product design and development.
9. Leadership skills to manage and lead a small team, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
10. Ability to think strategically and possess a future-focused outlook, contributing to the development of a comprehensive product roadmap that aligns with the company's long-term vision.
