Situated just southeast of Little Current on beautiful Manitoulin Island, Harbor Vue Marina is the largest marine service facility on the North Channel Waterway. For over 40 years, our dedicated team has delivered exceptional customer service to boaters worldwide, offering outstanding value and a wide selection of products for a worry-free experience. As boating specialists, our knowledgeable staff is here to assist you with everything from sales and service to storage and dockage, reflecting our passion for boating in all we do.

DUTIES

The General Manager of our marine service facility is responsible for overseeing all operations at Harbour Vue Marina, including storage, repairs, and sales. This role involves leading our dedicated team to ensure exceptional service and fostering strong customer relationships.

FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing the marine service facility operations, including but not limited to indoor and outdoor storage for over 350 vessels, a 55-slip harbor, mechanical and fiberglass repairs, as well as sales of boats and motors.

Leading a team of approximately 15 employees including marine technicians, fiberglass repair, yard workers, and parts and service workers.

Creating sales orders and providing quotes to customers for new boat and motor sales, including boat repowering.

Overseeing all marketing strategy and implementation.

Maintaining excellent customer service relationships while effectively addressing and resolving customer concerns in a timely manner.

Strategically managing the harbor's parts inventory by effectively planning, sourcing, and ordering parts, while ensuring optimal inventory levels and meeting customer demands.

Diagnosing and resolving IT-related challenges.

Collaboratively working with the bookkeeper to effectively monitor and manage both operating and capital expenditures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 5 years of management experience, including successfully leading teams of more than 10 employees across various specializations.

Hold a valid boat operator's license, required.

Demonstrated extensive knowledge of different types of boats and their mechanics.

Familiarity with boat winterization techniques and storage requirements is essential.

Proficient in the use of management software systems, required (preferably marina management software).

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, required.

Highly responsive and committed to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction in a timely manner.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic team environment.

Adapt to varying weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
